The numbers are out and they show what many of us have felt all along: that Mt. Healthy is a safe city. But bad press and the tendency of the news media to wrongly label Mt. Healthy as the location for troubles in Springfield or Colerain Township has given Mt. Healthy an undeserved reputation among some.
In fact, this study of the top 100 safest cities in every state places Mt. Healthy 16th safest in the state, ahead of Indian Hill, Montgomery, and Madeira. The study looked at total crime risk, which they define as “a stand alone statistic provided by Onboard Informatics and indicates the combined risk of rape, murder, burglary, assault, robbery, larceny, and vehicle theft compared to the national average of 100.” What years the data represents is not given. And villages: jurisdictions with populations less than 5,000, were excluded.
